A 23-year-old Barna man accused of allegedly producing knife during an assault in which a man was seriously harmed could face a trial at Galway Circuit Criminal Court next year.
Dylan Griffin with an address at 1 Centre Apartments, Seapoint, Barna, appeared at Galway District Court on Monday where evidence was given that the book of evidence had been served in relation to the offences.
Griffin is charged with assaulting Colm Keane causing him harm, contrary to Section 3 of the Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Act at Freeport, Barna, on July 7, 2011. He is further charged with producing a knife during the course of the assault in a manner likely to intimidate or inflict serious injury.
