FMC Tour comes to Róisín Dubh

THREE OF the most exciting Irish indie bands - Squarehead, We Cut Corners, and The Lost Brothers, play Strange Brew at the Róisín Dubh on Thursday November 1.

The show is part of The FMC Tour organised by First Music Contact. Headlining the night are the brilliant Dublin trio Squarehead. The band - Roy Duffy (singer/guitarist ), Ruan Van Vliet (drums ), and Ian McFarlane, arguably the most exciting bass player in Ireland (and a wild man entertainer ) - impressed with their excellent debut album Yeah Nothing, which combined surf rock, Beatles/Beach Boys vocal harmonies, and a rough around the edges garage rock.

We Cut Corners, the Dublin duo of drummer/vocalist Conall and guitarist John cite Burt Bacharach as an inspiration and elements of 1960s-style song structure are as noticeable in their music as is the indie DIY aesthetic. Their wonderful debut album, Today I Realised I Could Go Home Backwards, was released late last year and earned a Choice Music Prize nomination.

Also playing are The Lost Brothers - Mark McCausland and Oisin Leech.

Doors are at 8pm. Tickets are €10 available at www.roisindubh.net, from the Ticket Desk at OMG, Shop Street (formerly Zhivago ), and The Róisín Dubh.
