Jewellery-making workshop for children

The Galway City Museum will host a jewellery making workshop with Natasha Heaslip, this Saturday from 11am to 2pm, for those aged 10 to 14.

The workshop has been inspired by 21st Century Icons, an exhibition that is on loan to the museum from the National Craft Gallery, in which some of Ireland's leading contemporary jewellery makers reinterpret the ancient Celtic neckpiece, the torc.

At the workshop, participants will learn how to make jewellery from recycled objects. All participants are asked to bring one object with them to the workshop, such as an empty cereal box or plastic bottle. A full list of likely objects will be available to all on booking.

The workshop is free of charge but booking is essential. For more information contact 091 - 532460 or email [email protected]
