Galway choirs to perform memorial concert

Three of Galway’s leading community choirs will perform a tribute concert on Saturday June 9 in St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church for Monica Narciandi Junco.
Galway Choral Association, Galway Gospel Choir, and Ignite Gospel Choir led by their musical directors, Norman Duffy, Michel Durham, and Keara Rose Sheeran, will perform a memorial concert for Ms Junco, who died last October.
Ms Junco, from Asturias, worked as a main telephonist for the Revenue Commissioners, the Department of Social Welfare, and the Western Health Board. She was a member of the above three choirs and was due to celebrate her 40th birthday in June.
Money raised at the concerts will go towards the National Council for the Blind Galway. Tickets are €10/8 and are on sale at Opus 11, High Street (091 - 500300); the National Council for the Blind, 9a, St Francis Street (091 - 564926); and on the door.
