Newcastle woman to face trial on cocaine charges
A 19-years-old woman who has been charged with dealing cocaine in the city, has been sent forward for trial to the next criminal sessions of Galway Circuit Court in January.
Sandra Joyce, 86 Innishannagh Park, Newcastle, Galway, appeared before Galway District Court last Monday where Garda Orla Keenan gave evidence of serving a Book of Evidence on her.
Joyce is charged with having cocaine in her possession at her address on March 26 last year and with having the drug for sale or supply to another on the same date.
She is further charged with having cocaine with a street value in excess of €13,000 in her possession on the same date which was for sale or supply to another.
Judge Mary Fahy sent Joyce forward for trial to Galway Circuit Criminal Court commencing on January 13 next. She remanded her on continuing bail to that date on condition she continue to sign on at Galway Garda Station every Monday and Friday.
