Galway to hold its own fringe festival

Galway city is to get its own fringe festival this summer and the organisers are calling on local arts organisations and individuals to become involved.

The Galway Fringe Festival will run from July 12 to 30 and will encompass theatre, music, visual arts, literature, comedy, dance, and events and Irish language arts. The festival is organised by a voluntary committee of local artists.

“Many exciting and innovative events have been registered to date, both local and national, but there is still room for more,” said a fringe festival spokesperson, “so contact the festival if you have a show in mind and we would be delighted to hear from you!”

Registration closes on May 28. For further information or to register see www.galwayfringe.com or email [email protected]

Those interested in sponsoring the festival should contact the festival office on 086 - 0867237.
