Prokofiev’s Romeo & Juliet at Town Hall

PROKOFIEV’S BALLET version of Shakespeare’s immortal tragedy Romeo & Juliet, featuring choreography by Morgann Runacre-Temple, is coming to Galway.

The National Ballet of Ireland presents Romeo & Juliet at the Town Hall Theatre on Tuesday May 1 at 8pm. It will be performed by 16 top professional dancers and be led by Zoe Ashe-Browne as Juliet and David Horn as Romeo.

Morgann Runacre-Temple is choreographer in residence at Ballet Ireland and has made nine works for the company. Morgann’s works have been performed at The Gaiety Theatre Dublin, Tate Modern, Royal Opera House 2, National Concert Hall Dublin and The Royal Academy of Music and The Place Theatre, London, Prejlocaj Theatre, Marseille, and have been toured nationwide in Britain and Ireland.

Previous productions of the ballet were highly praised by The Irish Times: “Ashe-Browne and Horn deliver heart-stopping interpretations of the final scene. Runacre-Temple taps into a zeitgeist that so many other ballet companies desperately want to access right now. Runacre-Temple gets it.”
