Cashier No 9 @ Róisín Dubh

THE BELFAST music scene is the healthiest it has been in 30 years and Cashier No 9 are prominent among the many fine bands who have emerged from the city of late.

The band - Danny Todd (vocals ), James Smith (guitar ), Stuart Magowan (bass ), Philip Duffy (drums ), and Ronan Quinn (keyboards ) - play the Róisín Dubh on Saturday April 21 at 10pm.

Cashier No 9’s debut album To The Death Of Fun came out last year on Bella Union and earned a Meteor Choice Music Prize nomination. The album was produced by Belfast DJ David Holmes, and showcased the band’s layered, guitar-jangling indie pop-rock.

The band have also enjoyed critical praise with The Times predicting “they’ll be a big band” and The Fly saying: “Danny Todd has all the swagger of Bobby Gillespie and possesses the kind of energy needed for a hall filled with 1,600 people.”
