Two chances to see Tieranniesaur

TIERANNIESAUR, ONE of the most exciting new Irish indie bands, will play two shows at the Róisín Dubh this weekend.

The band play this Saturday at 9pm, with support from Dott and The Debutantes, followed by Disco Chúin, a silent disco for Seachtain na Gaeilge. Then on Sunday at 2pm, Tieranniesaur take to the stage for an all-ages family concert. Admission to both shows is free.

Tieranniesaur is unlike anything else in the Irish indie scene as their music embraces old school disco, Afro-Beat, and new-wave, with a touch of Riot Grrrl and Black Sabbath’s metal thrown in for good measure. Something for everyone really!

The Irish Times said their music is “idiosyncratic and infectious, but contain big, hefty, bubblegum pop hooks which could land some whoppers.” The band released their eponymous debut album last year to great acclaim.

The band is centred around Annie Tierney (aka Tieranniesaur ) and features her husband Padraig O’Reilly, Squarehead’s Ian McFarlane and Ruan Van Vliet, as well as Saileóg O’Halloran and Sara Golding.
