Galway’s Carla Merrigan to launch debut album

GALWAY SINGER-songwriter Carla Merrigan will launching her debut album In Too Deep with a gig in Monroe’s Backstage Bar on Friday March 2 at 8pm.

Carla has been singing in Galway for many years and was also a featured soloist with the NUI Galway Choral Society for six years. She has also performed with The Weightless Astronauts and honed her singing skills under the tutelage of Andres Martorell at the Galway Voice Studio.

She attended Seth Rigg’s Speech Level Singing Vocal camp in California, where she came into contact with singer-songwriter and producer Penny Framstad, whose music has been featured on 10 Things I Hate About You, The Office, Scrubs, Dawson’s Creek, and Law & Order.

Carla began to write songs with Framstad and these, alongside a song written by Carla and Sinead Cunningham, now make up her debut album In Too Deep. The album was recorded in LA and Galway. Carla’s musical influences range from Evanescence to Pink.

Tickets are available on the door or through [email protected] and 091 - 583397.
