Gemma Hayes to play Róisín Dubh

TIPPERARY SINGER-songwriter Gemma Hayes is coming to the Róisín Dubh on Saturday at 8pm as part of her Acoustic Tour of Ireland.

On this tour, Gemma will be performing songs from her most recent album, Let It Break, which was released in May, as well as from her previous releases, Night On My Side (2002 ), The Roads Don’t Love You (2005 ), and The Hollow of Morning (2008 ).

Gemma’s songs have appeared on TV programmes such as Grey’s Anatomy and One Tree Hill, as well as in films such as The Vampire Diaries and Janie Jones. Her Night on My Side album was nominated for a Mercury Music Award.

Support on the night comes from the multi-talented Elaine Mai. The Mayo-born, Galway based, singer-songwriter creates music of great emotional and melodic power.

Through the use of her vocal gifts, musical sense, and intelligent use of effects pedals, she creates startling songs that build into mini-epics, full of atmosphere and choral like backing. Her debut EP will be released soon.

Tickets are available from the Róisín Dubh and www.roisindubh.net
