Festive French music and dance

A FESTIVE concert of French and Irish traditional music and dance takes place in the Corrib Rowing and Yachting Club, Earls Island, on Thursday December 15 at 8pm.

The music will be performed by Les Ritals, which features Jacopo Bisagni (pipes and whistles ), Frederico Betti (guitar, fiddle, piano ), and Vincenzo di Mauro (accordion, fiddle ). Lise Carrel will demonstrate and teach French dances, while ceilidh dance will also feature.

French traditional music and dance is descended from baroque, mediaeval, and renaissance music and dance, and are still played and enjoyed in Auvergne and Provence.
