Public toilets needed at Cathedral Square says Conneely

It is “not acceptable” that people are using Galway Cathedral as simply a place to go to the toilet according to Fine Gael councillor Pádraig Conneely.

The controversial councillor is calling for public toilets to be installed in Cathedral Square for public use so that the toilets within the cathedral remain for use by parishioners and visitors to the building only.

Cllr Conneely has placed a special motion before the Galway City Council for next Monday’s meeting calling for the pubic toilets to be installed “without further delay”.

“The provision of toilets for the area has already been agreed on,” he said, “but the delay in installing them can no, longer be tolerated, especially as the area has a number of major bus stops
