Ashford Castle launches The Lodge at Ashford
The award-winning five-star Ashford Castle is now running The Lodge at Ashford, a 50 bedroom hotel formerly known as Lisloughrey Lodge that was built in 1860 for the Ashford estate manager.
As the name suggests, The Lodge at Ashford is located on the grounds of the castle and is idyllically set back from Lisloughrey Quay, close to the historic village of Cong, Co Mayo.
According to hotel manager TJ Mulcahy: “The Lodge at Ashford is the ideal private getaway and is already hugely popular as a wedding venue. Importantly, guests of The Lodge will be able to avail of all amenities on the estate such as falconry, golf, fishing, boating on Lough Corrib, archery, and horse-riding as well as enjoying spectacular walks on the grounds.”
Dining in the restaurant is an essential part of the Lodge at Ashford experience. Stefan Matz, head chef at Ashford Castle, will oversee the restaurant to produce contemporary country food sourced from local artisan producers.
For the month of August, rates start at €145 for two guests per night including breakfast.
