Do you have an idea for a short film?

HOW MANY people have an idea for a short film? How many of them actually put pen to paper to realise their idea?

One of the most difficult steps in turning an idea into a film is writing the first lines. It is strange to think that a blank page and a pen can be such a daunting combination.

To help to turn this combination into a more inviting prospect, Galway Film Centre is running a six evening workshop - From Idea to Paper. During the course, the participants will develop their idea into a draft of a script under the guidance of an experienced tutor.

There will be writing exercises in class, lessons on traditional screenplay structure, group readings of participants’ work, and pitching your idea to the group.

The course takes place at Galway Film Centre, Cluain Mhuire, Monivea Road. It runs from Tuesday November 11 to December 16 from 6.30pm to 9pm and costs €150.
