Galway’s Reality Design receives national advertising award

Galway-based Reality Design and Marketing Consultants was recently honoured with an Award of Excellence at the Irish Property Advertising Awards which was established to recognise outstanding achievement and promote creativity and innovation in property print advertising.

The advert for Owenass Developments, Portlaoise was chosen from some 600 entries and shortlisted to the final three in the New Homes Development Category. Reality Design was the only design company to be awarded from outside Dublin.

The advert was humour based and targeted at the first time buyer and was designed to instill the concept of independence and privacy. The advert ran in both national and regional newspapers and produced an increased call activity of 28 per cent.

The awards are independent and any organisation placing a print property advertisement in any national, regional, or trade publication in Ireland is eligible. The awards were established with a view to making them the industry standard within the property arena.

This year’s awards took place at The Four Seasons Hotel, recently with more than 360 guests attending, including major estate agencies/auctioneers, property developers, advertising executives and representatives of countrywide companies.

The keynote speakers were Mr Ivan Yates, chairman of Celtic Bookmakers and a former senior Fine Gael minister, Tom Parlon, director general designate of The Construction Industry Federation, with Mario Rosenstockk as MC for the Awards.

The panel of judges were: Chairman Michael Carey; Orlaith Blaney, IAPI; Kersten Mehl, IAVI; Fintan McNamara, IPAV; Jeanette Mair, CIF/IHBA; Justin Comiskey, The Irish Times.
