Italian string quartet to play city museum

THE INDACO Quartet, featuring County Galway cellist Naomi Berrill, will be performing at the Galway City Museum on Tuesday March 1 at 8pm.

On the night, the quartet will perform work by Haydn, Janacek, and Irish composer Donnacha Dennehy. Though based in Italy, the quartet’s members are from Italy, Moldavia, Japan, and Ireland.

They are currently completing a specialised masters course in chamber music in Basel, where they are also working on integrating dance and choreography into their string quartet performances in collaboration with choreographer Gaby Mahler.

Cellist Naomi Berrill is originally from Headford. She began her cello studies in Galway with Liz Barry. She was also a member of Hugh Kelly’s student chamber ensemble Tutti Con Belto, and a member of the Galway Youth Orchestra.

Tickets are €10/8. For tickets call 091 - 534883 or 085 - 7641898. Seating will be limited so early booking is advised.
