New book for teens to be launched in Galway

Prim Improper, a new book for teens from the Galway author Deirdre Sullivan, will be launched in the Galway City Library next Wednesday at 6pm.

Prim Improper, published by Little Island, centres on Primrose Leary, who has just started secondary school, and has to deal with such things as her embarrassing parents, an interest in boys, and a shrink who is driving her crazy.

Deirdre Sullivan is from Boleybeg East, Barna. She graduated from NUI, Galway with a master’s in drama and theatre studies. She is currently teaching in Dublin.

The book has already received many positive reviews, with Inis, the Irish children’s books’ magazine, describing it having “a good ear for teenage vernacular. It should strike a chord with girls who know just how hard it is to be 13”.

All are welcome to the book launch.
