Jakob Dylan to play Galway in July

JAKOB DYLAN, the son of the great Bob Dylan, and an acclaimed singer-songwriter in his own right, will make his Galway debut at the Róisín Dubh on Wednesday July 28 at 7.30pm.

Despite his father being one of the towering musical figures of the last 50 years, Jakob Dylan has had the good fortune to be able to carve out a distinct profile and niche for himself in the music world.

He first came to prominence in 1996 with his band The Wallflowers and their debut album Bringing Down The Horse. It was produced by T Bone Burnett, who is also the producer to Jakob’s new solo album Women and Country (Columbia Records ).

Women and Country, the follow up to Jakob’s 2008 critically acclaimed debut, Seeing Things, was recorded in Los Angeles and is strongly influenced by the same music that inspires his father - American roots and country blues. The album also features The New Pornographers’ Neko Case on backing vocals.

Tickets are available from the Róisín Dubh, Zhivago, and Ticketmaster. See www.jakobdylan.com
