Appeal follows Renmore robbery

Gardaí were this week on the trail of an armed robber who stole money from a shop in Renmore after threatening a shop assistant with a knife.

The man, described as five feet eight or nine inches tall with a strong build, went into Molloy’s shop in Renmore at around 1pm on Saturday and produced a knife. He threatened the shop assistant and stole a small sum of money before leaving the shop on foot.

The thief wore grey track suit bottoms and a grey hoodie, and he spoke with a Galway accent. Gardaí were this week examining CCTV footage of the crime in a bid to identify the man, and witnesses are being asked to contact Galway Garda Station at (091 ) 538000.
