Fundraising table quiz for St Annins

St Annins National School Rosscahill is organising a table quiz for Friday February 26 at 8.30pm in the Killannin Community Centre, in order to raise funds for enhancement works at the school.

The school has recently experienced a significant expansion in pupil numbers and projected figures indicate this trend is likely to continue. In order to meet this demand the school is currently in the process of developing a new classroom and car park.

“The number of children attending school in St Annins has increased from 159 in 2003 to 264 currently,” said principal John O’Callaghan.

With the school situated along the main Galway-Clifden road, the new car park will enhance safety at the school as school management recognise potential hazards in the current parking conditions, particularly at school opening and closing times.

The new classroom, the third added to the school in recent years, is also currently under construction. Those who wish to get further information should go to www.stannins.com Mr O’Callaghan is grateful to the committee organising the fundraising table and would seek that all of the local community might support the event.
