Instruments for Africa charity night @ Kelly’s

IF YOU have an old musical instrument that is never used and just taking up space, why not donate it to the Instruments for Africa appeal where it will be transported to Zambia and into appreciative hands.

Cavan trad band Whiskey You’re The Divil are looking for instruments to bring to Zambia and as part of the Instruments for Africa appeal they are playing a five date Irish tour.

The band will play Kelly’s, Bridge Street, on Tuesday at 7.30pm. At the gigs there will be a collection point for donated instruments. Any instrument in working order will be accepted.

A shipping container has been organised to transport the instruments to Durban, South Africa, in February 2010 and its contents will be transferred to Zambia by logistics company Celtic Freight. The campaign is backed by Jinx Lennon, Andy Irvine, and Donal Lunny who have all donated instruments to the cause.
