Care centre open day

The Village Nursing Care Centre will hold its annual open day on Sunday July 5 from 3pm. The open day is a community celebration which promises to have something for all the family. Visitors will be treated to a barbecue and buffet selection courtesy of The Village chef and her team. The Village wine and juice bar will also be in full swing as guests are entertained by Carmel Dempsey and friends, as well as a host of entertainers and dancers.

A vintage car and machinery display will take place courtesy of The Mountbellew Vintage society. Other attractions will include a fire safety demonstration, a nutritional talk by Dr Bhatti, and a wood turning demonstration by local craftspeople.

Families are also encouraged to dress up for the event and avail of a reduced price family photo service available on the day. Professional photographer Dave Ruffles who has worked for clients such as The Sunday Times and Observer magazine will offer a family portrait shoot with proofs for €25.

For the children there will be face painting, children’s entertainers, bowling with City Limits, and a number of other attractions. In the dining room the event organisers will be holding an art exhibition consisting of work from local Active Retirement and other community groups.

The Village Care Centre is a modern purpose built nursing care facility situated near the towns of Craughwell, Clarenbridge, and Oranmore. Care is provided for long and short term convalescence, respite, day care, and post operative care.
