Galway Surfers to paddle the prom to support the lifeboats

The Galway Surfers group will take to the water in Salthill this Sunday at 3pm for Paddle on the Prom, an event to raise much-needed funds for the Galway Lifeboats.

Participants will be paddling on their surfboards parallel for one mile, starting from the Prom car park to Blackrock and back. Funds have been collected through sponsorship cards prior to the event but the public can make donations at the Galway Surfers’ stall on the day.

The surfers are also asking all sea goers to make a donation directly to the RNLI through their website at www.galwaysurfers.com

“We hope to raise as much money as possible for the lifeboats, which is a vital service for all inhabitants and visitors to Galway,” said Donncha Foley, chairperson of Galway Surfers. “It would be fantastic if all those using the water used this opportunity to show their support.”

Registration is still open to anyone who would like to take part in the paddle. To register contact Donncha Foley on 086 - 8230651.
