Noone to meet Bus Éireann over Loughgeorge and Claregalway transport concerns

Bus shelters for Loughgeorge and Claregalway could be provided if a meeting between Fianna Fáil Oranmore candidate Malachy Noone and Bus Éireann proves successful.

Mr Noone will meet with Bus Éireann regional manager Brian Connolly, to push forward proposals for new bus shelters in the locality.

Mr Noone has also written to the Galway County Council to clarify when the continuation of the bus lane through Claregalway will take place. He has asked for a clarification from the council over the status of an objection issued by the National Parks and Wildlife Service in relation to plans for a new boardwalk at the bridge over the Clare River.

“The boardwalk will facilitate the provision of a Quality Bus Corridor at this location - which is vital if we are to encourage the use of public transport,” said Mr Noone. “We need to look at the future of public transport in Claregalway in an integrated manner.”
