Galway 2020 to host information days on progress

Galway 2020 is taking over the historic Printworks building on Galway’s Market Street for two days tomorrow Friday Nov 16 and Saturday November 17 for a two-day exhibition open to the public.

They will present some of the exciting project developments and give a taste of what is to come as Galway gears up for its designation as European Capital of Culture in 2020.

Visitors will get the chance to peek inside preparations across all the elements of the project, from the cultural programme of events and volunteering to business partnerships, learning how they can be part of Galway’s cultural expression in 2020 and beyond.

The exhibition will outline the roadmap of what to expect between now and the kick-off of Galway’s reign, to deliver a celebration of our beautiful county, our vibrant city, our language, our people and the collective imagination of Galway.

Galway 2020 is inviting members of the public to come along and find out more about the most exciting journey Galway has ever taken. 2020 aspires to be a world-class display of arts and culture, placing Galway at the heart of cultural life across Europe in 2020 by creating moments and great memories that will last a lifetime.

The free exhibition is open to members of the public from 10am – 5pm on Friday 16 and Saturday 17. A live musical performance from Live Feed will take place from 1:00pm – 2:00pm on Saturday. Members of the Galway 2020 team will be on hand on both days to share some of the ambitious plans for the project and answer any questions.

An Irish Sign Language tour of the exhibition will take place from 2.30 to 3.30pm on Saturday 17. Galway 2020 encourages any individuals or groups with access needs to get in contact in advance, so we can ensure any specific access needs are catered for and plan for your visit accordingly.
