Community programmes and Men’s Shed funding approved

The Galway City Local Community Development Committee has approved grants totalling €139,701 to a wide range of local groups and organisations in the city under the Community Enhancement Programme for 2018 and the Men’s Shed fund.

Thirty projects have been approved for funding: Galway Autism Partnership (€2,800 ), Helplink Support Services CLG (€6,502 ), Our Lady’s Boys Club (€6,229 ), Teach Áthais Community Childcare Centre (€2,500 ), Mervue Active Retirement Association Bowls club (€1,345 ), Galway Community Circus (€1,000 ), Ard Álainn Clean Up Group (€1,930 ), Renmore Active Retirement Group (€720 ), Blue Teapot Theatre Company (€3,167 ), Westside Age Inclusion (€2,000 ), Whitehall Close Residents Group (€10,804 ), Ballybane Community Resource Centre (€999 ), Shantalla Men’s Shed (€7,500 ), Westside Resource Centre (€5,200 ), Borthers of Charity Services Galway (€9,495 ), Youth Work Ireland, Galway (€1,000 ), Galway Centre for Independent Living (€29,000 ), Ballybane Men’s Shed (€1,900 ), Ballybane Sports and Community Development (€750 ), Galway Hibernians Football Club (€11,548 ), Galway Simon Community (€14,950 ), Ballinfoile Castlegar Neighbourhood Centre (€3,977 ), Horses Connect (€5,000 ), Ability West (€1,000 ), Salthill Men’s Shed (€1,449 ), Croí na Gaillimhe (€2,610 ), Ballybane Men’s Shed (€869 ), and Cumann na bhFear Men’s Shed (€1,449 ).

All of the projects receiving funding relate to one or more of the key priority areas as identified in the Galway City Local Economic & Community Plan 2015 – 2021.
