SUSPENSION, THE final show of its Oughterard Courthouse Summer Arts Programme, featuring the work by sculptor Tim Kelly and visual artist Brenda Flannery, opens tomorrow at 7pm.
Tim Kelly, from Ceantar na nOileán, Connemara, works mainly in sculpture, using stone, wood, metal, and other natural materials. He also works in video. His work explores the themes of famine and emigration. Brenda Flannery is from Mayo. Her ink drawings are inspired by rural landscapes, and represent a quest for calm and a search for a space of peace and stillness.
The exhibition will be officially opened tomorrow by Dr Gavin Murphy, lecturer in art history and critical theory at GMIT. Exhibition opening hours are 10am to 5pm, Mondays to Saturdays, and Sundays from 12 noon to 5pm. Suspension runs until Sunday September 2. All are welcome.
