Free information roadshows to showcase local employment and education opportunities

Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board and Galway Rural Development are linking up with series of information roadshows.

GRETB and GRD are joining forces to put on a series of information events this May, called Make the Link. Events will run from 10am to 1pm on Tuesday May 22 in Ard Rí Hotel, Tuam; Wednesday May 23 in Ionad Pobail Cill Chiaráin; in Gort at the Lady Gregory Hotel on Tuesday May 29; and the Shearwater Hotel, Ballinasloe, on Wednesday May 30.

These events are free and all are welcome.

Make the Link will showcase opportunities with local employers and the full range of courses offered by GRETB, GRD, Equal Ireland, AIT, NUIG, and GMIT. The Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection will provide advice on supports.

“GRETB is delighted to partner with GRD in showcasing these opportunities and the pathways to successful education progression and employment," said GRETB director of FET Eithne Nic Dhonnchadha. "The local events offer a unique opportunity to meet with the community and provide up to date detailed information and guidance on the many options available to them.”

Freeda Garman, adult education officer with GRD, added: “Over the last number of years GRD has brought these information events to all parts of the county and this year we are delighted to be travelling to Gort for the first time. This is a great opportunity to meet education and training agencies and local employers all under one roof and get useful information and advice.”
