Galway Muslim Community open day

Galway’s Muslim community will host its annual GICC Neighbourhood Week 2018 in the Westside Library, Seamus Quirke Road, with this year’s theme being ‘To know each other’.

The theme is derived from a quote from the Qur’an: “We created you from a single pair of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other.”

The GICC Neighbourhood Week 2018 will be officially opened at 2pm on Friday May 4 by the Mayor of Galway City, Cllr Pearce Flannery. The event will run until Friday May 11. Events include a football tournament (May 4, 2.30pm ); film screening and first aid course (May 8, 3.30pm ); a cultural night (May 9 ); ‘Learn Arabic in 45 minutes’ event (May 10, 3pm ); and the closing ceremony (2.30pm ).
