McStay and Roscommon need a win

A bumper crowd is expected at Elverys MacHale Park for Saturday evening’s Allianz Football League Division One clash between Mayo and Roscommon.

Mayo, beaten by Monaghan in their opening tussle, responded impressively to earn an excellent away win in Tralee against Kerry.

Tyrone and Donegal both overcame Roscommon, who delivered a much-improved performance against Rory Gallagher’s charges at Dr Hyde Park.

The all-Connacht encounter with Mayo, though, carries importance for Roscommon, who know that a positive result must be eked out in Castlebar if relegation is to be avoided.

Remaining in Division One is the mission for Kevin McStay’s team, and Roscommon will be eager to make a positive statement this weekend.
