Athlone man wins Longines Prize For Elegance at The Curragh racecourse

Athlone resident Chris Bonini was declared the winner of the Longines Prize for Elegance on the second day of the Longines Irish Champions weekend at The Curragh racecourse on Sunday, September 11.

Chris cut a dash in a Ted Baker blazer and Topman trousers and was the envy of his friends who joked that they wished they had taken some style tips from him.

“I never expected to win”, Chris said. “I’m shocked and delighted. It’s been such a fun day, I’ve enjoyed every second of it.”

The fashion judges included Irish Country Magazine editor, Jennifer Stevens, celebrity hairdresser, David Marshall, Her.ie fashion and beauty editor, Cathy Donohue, and Julia Wilks, the marketing director of Kildare Village.

This year the Longines Prize for Elegance competition had a prize fund of more than €25,000 up for grabs. Chris won a spectacular Longines timepiece, a €2,000 spending spree voucher from Kildare Village, and a voucher from the David Marshall Hair Salon.
