Super Sunday as favourites return to The Snug Bar

It's a super Sunday at The Snug Bar, Athlone this Sunday, April 17, with two of the bar's most popular and energetic acts waiting to entertain you!

Popular Athlone band Macey South are in action from 7pm. Macey South are a young energetic three-piece made up of brothers Keith and Liam Flynn and Conor Irwin. Their original mix of traditional Irish music and rock ‘n’ roll never fails to get an audience on their feet.

The highlight of the weekend is the return of Snug favourites Amazing Apples. This renowned five-piece multi-instrumentalist folk/rock band from Galway are enjoying a huge profile and are always welcome at The Snug. They will take to the stage on Sunday at 9pm.

The musically versatile and talented band have massive charisma and huge live appeal. Their sound is Irish/Americana with tons of personality and high-energy performances. All the members are multi-instrumentalists incorporating bouzouki, mandolin, keyboard, and fiddle for their live show.

The band have supported bands like Mumford and Sons, Damien Dempsey, Walking on Cars, Mundy, The Saw Doctors, and The Stunning at venues such as Electric Picnic and the Currafest. They were also chosen twice as ‘Play Irish’ artists of the month with their song ‘Head in the Clouds’. ‘Slipping By’, released in March 2014, peaked at no.1 on the iTunes downloads charts.
