Public seminar on European Economic Policy

On Thursday April 16 former Minister Alan Dukes and solicitor Ursula Tipp will discuss what lies in store for Ireland’s economy in the context of EU economic governance rules. This free European Commission seminar entitled European Economic Policy - What’s in it for Ireland? will take place at AIT at 6.30pm.

The panel, including the European Commission’s Patrick O’Riordan, aims to shed light on Ireland’s economy in the European framework, while attendees will have an opportunity to voice their opinions and ask any questions they may have about European economic policy. The seminar will be chaired by Ruth Deasy of the European Commission representation in Ireland.

Speaking ahead of the seminar, Barbara Nolan, head of the European Commission Representation in Ireland, said: “This seminar is an opportunity to hear different perspectives, including the European Commission’s, on Ireland’s economic situation in the EU context. We hope that this event can be a dialogue with members of the public on the various factors that impact Ireland’s recovering economy, and the safeguards now in place to protect the Irish and European economies.”

During the question and answer session, which will follow the panel presentations, audience members will be invited to contribute to the discussion.
