Westmeath company scoops business award

Mullingar-based company PharMed scooped the Best Established SME Award at the Leinster provincial final of the Ulster Bank Business Achievers Awards. Seven other businesses from across Leinster were also selected as winners at the awards ceremony, which took place at Croke Park in Dublin. These businesses will now go on to compete with provincial winners from Munster, Connacht, and Ulster for the national title and individual category title at the all-island finals in May.

PharMed Holdings is a healthcare sales, marketing, and distribution group operating across the healthcare supply chain in Ireland and the UK. PharMed provides healthcare products and services to hospitals, pharmacies, GPs, and pharmaceutical clients through its operating divisions AccuScience Ireland, PharMed, PharmaForce, Vista Pharmaceuticals, Medilink Service,s and Neurotechnics. Founded in 2006 by Declan Devine, John Gannon and Dara Murphy, the company is headquartered in Mullingar and has facilities in Naas, Belfast, and Banbury in the UK. It employs almost 100 staff.

The 2012 Ulster Bank Business Achiever will receive a comprehensive prize package including a €50,000 publishing bursary with the Irish Independent, business mentoring from Enterprise Ireland, a full service communications workshop, as well as much positive national and regional PR coverage.
