Spring clean in aid of Athlone Animal Welfare

Athlone Animal Welfare has launched a fundraising drive that will not only see much needed money raised for the organisation, but will help everyone spring clean!

The group hope to turn trash into cash by asking everyone to clean out their wardrobes and donate their old or unwanted clothes, shoes, and handbags to them.

Donations of clean clothing will generate funds which will go towards the cat shelter for rehabilitated, vaccinated, and rehomed cats and kittens. The fundraising will also go towards supporting spaying and neutering schemes in the area as well as providing emergency treatment to animals in need , especially stray and feral animals in Athlone.

The organisation will also use funds to provide free educational programmes in local schools.

Athlone Animal Welfare was started four years ago to help rescue and rehome cats and kittens.

The following types of clothing items are required: summer wear, handbags, footwear (must be in pairs ), baby clothes, pyjamas, scarves, jackets, tracksuits, jeans, sportswear, jumpers, suits, t-shirts, dresses, shirts, and blouses.

Please drop clothes in black bin bags to AAW in The Bounty between 5-9pm on Friday April 5 and Saturday April 6 from 11am-5pm.
