Peugeot win again at Irish Car of the Year Awards

The new Peugeot 508 has been awarded Continental Irish Family Car of the Year 2012, by the Irish Motoring Writers’ Association. The announcement was made at an awards ceremony at the Convention Centre in Dublin, attended by leading figures across the Irish motor industry. This is the fifth Irish Car of the Year accolade for Peugeot in just two years: the Peugeot 3008 won its category for best Crossover and the overall award to become Irish Car of the Year 2010, the Peugeot 5008 MPV was awarded Irish Family Car of the Year 2011, and the RCZ was named Irish Performance Car of the Year 2011.

Peugeot’s 508 won its first award just after it was launched this May and was crowned Best New Car of 2011 in the UK Fleet World Honours. Dubbed by Irish motoring journalists as Peugeot’s best saloon yet, the new Peugeot flagship has become a popular family and fleet car in Ireland, with 385 units already registered in six months.

George Harbourne, Peugeot managing director said, “The Peugeot 508 is an incredible car, it changes the game for Peugeot. A massive leap forward, the 508 offers a quality cabin, a range of frugal, refined engines all wrapped in a stylish bodyshell. We are truly delighted with the Irish Family Car of the Year 2012 awards and appreciate all the support from the Irish Motoring Writers’ Association.”

The new Peugeot 508, Family Car of the Year 2012, retails from €24,850 plus dealer delivery related charges.
