Revised Mazda3 to launch early 2012

Mazda has upgraded its Mazda3 hatchback which will go on sale early in the New Year. It has a redesigned front and rear, with new twist-spoke alloy wheel designs, and interior changes include new materials, colours, and a quieter cabin.

Mazda tells us that the 2011 upgrade enhances their small family range’s reputation for agility and easy handling by introducing new features that improve ride quality and handling stability.

The Japanese carmaker boasts that this has resulted in an upgraded model that is even more fun and predictable to drive on a daily basis.

Designers focused on updates that would enhance the car’s emotional appeal with a muscular appearance that underscores the car’s solid build quality. Mazda also boasts that new materials and colours enhance quality feel and the optimised ergonomics make the upgraded Mazda3 easier to use.

With the 2012 Mazda3, CO2 emissions are reduced by up to 3.5 per cent, depending on model. Six diesel models in the 2012 line-up are rated at 115g/km and seven petrol models are rated at 147g/km, while only the automatic and MPS models exceed 175g/km.

Prices for the revised Mazda3 will be revealed closer to launch next year.
