Darragh J Glennon introduces hard pop to Mullingar this Friday

Tonight, Friday October 21 sees the return of Darragh J to his hometown of Mullingar for an exciting full band show at John Daly’s as part of a double headline gig with Flying Crows.

It will be Darragh’s first electric show in over two years and his first performance in Ireland since he relocated to London earlier this year.

Darragh has been ferociously gigging and writing his second album, vowing to spread the word of his new hard pop genre. According to Darragh, this style of music is in its infancy so its definition is left to the listener although he claims its response in the UK has been so far incredibly positive.

Tonight people can expect to hear songs from Darragh’s first album, Detour, as well as his newly created compositions and it's said that there will be a few classics thrown in for good measure. With no cover charge, this is a must for Mullingar music fans as joining Darragh J on stage will be the exciting rhythm section of Fionn O’Donohoe and Gerard Kiernan from local band Ricotta.

With predictions aside, expect the unexpected as Darragh has a reputation for ruffling a few feathers with an electric guitar at hand. One incident involving Chris Pontius, a drum kit, and a stage dive come to mind!

So if you’re fed up with your Friday nights and need a bit of excitement or you just want to check out some new original music, take a trip to Daly’s around 10pm tonight!
