De-cluttering for the elderly

Leading Westmeath home care provider, Home Instead Senior Care, is asking adult children to take a closer look at senior parent’s homes this new year.

Home Instead Senior Care in Mullingar says cluttered homes can be dangerous for the elderly.

Refrigerators full of spoiled food, stacks of bills and papers collecting dust, and crowded cupboards can be a fall hazard and could act as a warning sign to family members.

“It may indicate that they’re not able to keep up with the things they need to keep up with to maintain their independence. So please make it your new year resolution to help look after ageing parents and loved ones and make sure they are living safely and clutter-free in their home,” says Teresa O’Reilly of Home Instead Senior Care in Mullingar.

Home Instead Senior Care is Ireland’s largest home care provider, helping seniors maintain their independence and live at home for longer than otherwise possible.
