Joe Dolan play for the Arts Centre

The play, The Night Joe Dolan’s Car Broke Down comes to Mullingar Arts Centre from Thursday September 30 to Saturday October 2.

Written and directed by Padraic McIntyre, the play is set in a rural pub in County Cavan on a stormy St Stephen’s night as locals gather to celebrate the 60th birthday of The Horse Munley. As the storm worsens and people head home a knock on the door brings the night’s entertainment to a new level.

McIntyre’s play features a host of local characters which people will easily identify with, each with their own story to tell. As the play unfolds so too does the music and craic. Featuring live music ranging from The Wren Boys to Joe Dolan himself (played by the hugely talented John O’Grady ), this play is a treat for all theatre and music lovers alike.

Mixing comedy, drama, and music The Night Joe Dolan’s Car Broke Down was a smash hit at the Ramor Theatre, Cavan playing to 20 sold-out performances.
