Lakelands region hits the airwaves in Germany

Millions of potential holidaymakers to hear about cruising on the Shannon

Cruising holidays on the River Shannon are on air in Germany right now, courtesy of a Tourism Ireland radio promotion which will reach over 500,000 listeners each day during the month-long campaign. A competition on popular radio station HR1, in association with Dertour (a leading German tour operator ) is offering six lucky people the chance to win a cruising break on the Shannon. Tourism Ireland adverts are highlighting the relaxed and enjoyable pace of a cruising holiday as well as the many things to see and do for German holidaymakers in this part of Ireland.

Barbara Wood, Tourism Ireland’s manager for Central Europe, said, “This is a great opportunity to highlight the superb cruising and tourism product of the Shannon and Lakelands Region. Tourism Ireland has an extensive promotional programme in place for 2010 in Germany, to showcase the uniqueness of a holiday in the Lakelands and around the island of Ireland. A range of campaigns is highlighting the tremendous value on offer as well as compelling reasons to visit. The message here in Germany is that there has never been a better time to visit the island of Ireland.”
