Storyfold to headline The Stables

Fresh from selling out Dublin’s Crawdaddy venue for the launch of their debut single ‘Delphine Wakes’, hotly tipped Irish newcomers Storyfold will headline The Stables for their first ever Mullingar show on May 14.

‘Delphine Wakes’ is currently receiving national airplay on both RTE 2FM and Today FM and has received brilliant reviews from press and fans alike. DJ Rick O'Shea, who plays the track every day on his lunchtime show on 2FM, was moved, after he’d played the song for the first time, to say: “How good does that sound? No, that’s not some big American band who have sold 20 million albums. They’re Irish and that’s Storyfold.”

The track, which was recorded and produced in Dublin’s Sun Studios by Gareth Mannix (Republic of Loose, Delorentos ) and mastered in the world-famous Abbey Road Studios in London, is also being played on radio stations across the country.

Storyfold have a busy summer ahead, having recently been added to the line-up for the Indiependence Festival to be held in Mitchelstown this August Bank Holiday weekend. The festival already boasts a stellar cast which includes headliners White Lies, Reverend & The Makers, and The Coronas. They also play the Le Cheile Festival in Oldcastle the same weekend, as well as the Shamrock Festival in Cavan on the weekend of July 2.

The band have only been in existence since April 2009 but through a succession of barnstorming gigs in Dublin, Belfast, and Dundalk, they have turned heads and captured hearts with their music. Comparisons include Muse, Ben Folds Five, Kerbdog, Ash, The Wannadies, and The Arctic Monkeys.

Doors on the night open at 10pm with a €5 admission price, and support will be provided by the Glastonbury-bound Shouting at Planes and popular hometown group Ricotta.
