Mentalist wows judges at Stars of our Bars final

The Stars of our Bars Westmeath county final was held in the Annebrook House Hotel, Mullingar last Thursday, April 22. The event saw 10 acts from six different venues across Westmeath perform their best to win the judges over for their chance to get to the regional final, as well as compete for cash prizes of €1,000 for first place, €500 for second, and €250 for third.

The competition was very tough, with a variety of different singers as well as one act that really stood out from the rest, magician and mentalist Aidain Murphy, representing Berty’s Bar, Annebrook House Hotel. His act amazed the judges and won the county final of Stars of our Bars.

Second place went to Shanna Cunningham representing The Palace Bar, Athlone, while Louise Killen representing The Village Tavern, Shannonbridge came third.

Other acts taking part included Ann Marie Dunne for Berty’s Bar, Annebrook House Hotel; John Smyth and Michelle Worrell for Hotel Castlepollard; Shanna Cunningham and Tad & Klint for The Palace Bar, Athlone; Joey Ennis for The Prince Bar, Athlone; and Maggie Dunne and Dolores Kelly representing The Auld Shebeen, Moate.
