CD launch for Laura and Gráinne Kavanagh

On Thursday July 9, Laura and Gráinne Kavanagh will launch their new CD Shine A Light in Cooney’s Hotel, Ballymahon, in aid of the Irish Hospice Foundation.

The CD features Laura on vocals, whistle, and piano and Gráinne on drums, guitar, and vocals. The four tracks chosen are personal favourites, each track having a special significance and a sound to suit all ears!

Laura and Gráinne, both talented musicians, come from a very musical background, and have been singing and playing from a very early age. Laura is a qualified music teacher and Gráinne is currently studying in AIT.

The project came to light in November last, when their grandmother Anna, passed away. Due to the kind work of the palliative care team, during her illness, the girls decided to put their talents to work in order to raise money for the Irish Hospice Foundation.

There is an excellent line up of musicians performing on the night including Mick Foster, Moyra Fraser, The Glenside Ceili Band, Bending The Strings (bluegrass ), Veronica Moran (winner of Longford’s Got Talent ), Kathleen and Willie Kavanagh, and of course, Laura and Gráinne.

The launch will commence at 9pm sharp and promises to be a great night of entertainment. There will be a raffle and spot prizes on the night and the CD will be available for purchase.
