Smokie in Athlone for bank holiday show!

They must be the most travelled band in the world! And they’re at it again with a ‘one night only’ and long awaited return to Athlone when they appear in the Radisson Hotel on the bank holiday Saturday of May 30.

Tickets are now on sale from the Radisson Hotel at (090 ) 6442600, and from Music World in Golden Island shopping centre at (090 ) 6474372

As a special dedication to their Irish fans who have come to see the band down through the years, they have just released The Irish Collection, a set of their greatest hits dedicated to Ireland only.

This collection includes songs like ‘Something’s Been Making me Blue’, ‘I’ll Meet You At Midnight’, ‘Don’t Play Your Rock ‘n’ Roll To Me’, ‘If You Think You Know How To Love Me’, ‘Livin’ Next Door To Alice’, ‘Wild Angels’, ‘Oh Carol’, ‘Needles and Pins’, ‘Have You Ever Seen the Rain’, ‘Mexican Girl’, ‘For a Few Dollars More’, and indeed many more.

All of these were top 10 entries around the world, went on to become radio staples, and gave Smokie their ticket to travel the globe for the past 30 years. Also included is ‘Whiskey in the Jar’, which they perform everywhere in the world as part of their live set

‘The Irish Collection’ show will feature every single hit record Smokie have had, as well as offering a sample of some of their recent albums which have been big chart hits in many European countries.

This year alone, Smokie have toured Australia, South Africa, China and South Korea, bringing their unique country rock sound to hundreds of thousands of Smokie fans who still love their music after all these years!

It’s a not-to-be-missed sound and lighting spectacular, with Smokie proving once again just why they deserve the name of being one of the greatest live bands in the music business today!

Last time in Athlone was a sell out...expect the same again in the magnificent surroundings of the Radisson Hotel Athlone.
