Childrens Halloween stories at Athlone Castle & Visitor Centre

Athlone Castle is delighted to announce its Halloween event, 'Rattling Bones and Tombstones Storytelling and Puppetry' shows on Saturday, October 27.

Children can get prepared for Halloween fun with Storygate in the Upper Keep of the Castle, with four story and puppet sessions taking place at 12pm, 2pm, 3.30pm and 5pm. The first and third sessions (12pm and 3.30pm ) will be suitable for children from 4–7 years in age, while the second and last sessions (2pm and 5pm, ) will be suitable for eight years and older.

Your ‘little monsters’ will be entertained for over 45 minutes with slightly spooky, family friendly stories of graveyards, pranks and silly ghosts by storytellers Michael and Simone from StoryGate with special guest appearances from Vinny the handsome Vulture.

Children and adults alike will enjoy the fun experience of storytelling in the unique atmosphere of a creepy castle, steeped in history.

Athlone Castle encourages all children to get in the mood for Halloween by wearing their costumes to the storytelling and puppetrysessions!

Admission to the event for children aged 4-15 years will cost €5, with €3 for accompanying adults. Family tickets will cost €12 (2 adults with 2 children ) and €22(2 adults with 3/4 children ). Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
